How do detrital, chemical and organic sedimentary rocks differ from one another?

Answer 1

They differ in their formation process.

Conglomerate and sandstone are two examples of the solid particles or grains that weather and deposit to form detrital sedimentary rocks.

Chemical processes, such as the evaporation of seawater by sunlight leaving behind salt residue, are responsible for the formation of chemical sedimentary rocks.

Organic sedimentary rocks are created when organic processes or organisms act upon one another. For instance, in shallow sea waters, dead organisms decompose and accumulate, forming organic limestone and chalk. I hope this is helpful.

Answer 2

Detrital sedimentary rocks form from the accumulation and cementation of rock and mineral fragments. Chemical sedimentary rocks form from the precipitation of minerals dissolved in water. Organic sedimentary rocks form from the accumulation and compaction of organic materials, such as plant debris or animal remains.
