Furthermore, with so much time at their disposal, people were able to start inventions and learn more by observing the world around them and celestial phenomena.

In addition, new social classes—warriors and priests—arose as these settlements and populations increased. The rationale for this was that warriors were required to protect the villages from outside threats, and a distinct priesthood emerged to perform religious rites.

As a result, civilizations started to flourish over time. A civilization is an advanced form of human culture in which people are proficient in science and technology, build cities, have intricate social structures, and use writing.

In summary, one could argue that agriculture served as something of a primary catalyst for the advancement of human civilization.
