How are elements and atoms related?

Answer 1

Elements consist of atoms with the same number of protons in the nucleus.

Some elements that you can find in the home are copper (#"Cu"#, 29 protons) in the wiring, aluminium (#Al#, 13 protons) in pots and pans, and iron (#"Fe"#, 26 protons) in iron nails.

Other elements are nitrogen (#"N"_2#), ozone (#"O"_3#), phosphorus (#"P"_4#), and sulfur (#"S"_8#).

They contain atoms with 7, 8, 15, and 16 protons, respectively, in their nuclei,

Here's a diagram of the atoms of some other elements.

Answer 2

Elements are a chemical substance made up of only one type of atom. An example of an element is carbon .

Atoms are tiny particles made of protons, neutrons and electrons.

Elements are chemical substances which contain just one type of atom.

Example: Gold is an element. The smallest piece of gold (particle) which still has the same characteristics of a larger piece of gold is a single atom of gold. Also a gold has an atomic number of 79 so there are 79 protons in the nucleus

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
