Chonorchis sinensis is the Genus species for which parasitic worm?

Answer 1

Chinese Liver Fluke,a trematode belongs to the phylum Platyhelminthes

A person with a light infection is usually asymptomatic. In cases of heavier infections, which are typically acquired after years of recurrent infection, there is a risk of developing potentially fatal conditions such as pancreatitis, cholelithiasis, cholangitis, and cholangiocarcinoma.

The parasite is not spread directly from person to person, but an infected individual may pass viable eggs for up to 30 years. The parasite is most commonly transmitted in areas where human feces are used to fertilize fish ponds. Transmission occurs through ingestion of raw or improperly cooked freshwater fish or crayfish containing encysted larvae.

The preferred medication for the condition is praziquantel.
