Can anyone please tell me the definition of Meiosis?
Meiosis is a specialised type of cell division which brings down chromosome number of parent cell to half in four daughter cells. Meiosis involves two successive cell divisions.
Meiosis may take place in plants, animals, or fungi. Generally in plants and animals, haploid gametes are generated by meiosis. Gametes fuse to form zygote and diploid chromosome number is again established for the new progeny.
In some lower plants, meiosis takes place in zygote so that haploid spores are formed. Such spores multiply by mitosis to form haploid plant bodies.

Meiosis is a type of cell division that occurs in sexually reproducing organisms. It involves two successive divisions that result in the formation of four haploid daughter cells, each containing half the number of chromosomes as the parent cell. Meiosis is essential for the production of gametes (sperm and egg cells) in animals and spores in plants, which are necessary for sexual reproduction.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
