You do not identify aromatic compounds from their IR spectra.

An IR spectrum allows you to confirm identity of a known organic compound. It does not allow you to identify a compound #"a priori"#.

Finding the melting or boiling point of an unknown organic species is the first step in identifying it. Next, you should identify its functional groups, such as halides, alcohols, carboxyls, amines, etc., and create a few crystalline derivatives. Finally, you should compare your experimental melting points with the extensive literature—manufacturing books and handbooks dedicated to this task are available—to determine the identity of the unknown species.
