Describe mataphase stage of mitotic division?
Mitotic cell division is divided in Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase and Telophase.
- As a cell enters metaphase from prophase, nuclear membrane disappears.
- Chromosomes are tightly coiled and each chromosome is now made of two chromatids, attached at centromere.
- Spindle apparatus is fully formed during metaphase, made of spindle fibres.
- And as the cell proceeds in metaphse, the chromosomes start arranging themselves on equatorial region of cell.
- Centromeric region of chromosome attaches to spindle fibre, the attachment is mediated by a protein entity, termed khinetochore.
- In the final stage of metaphase, the chromosomes are linearly arranged on so called metaphase plate. Metaphase plate lies perpendicular to spindle apparatus.

During metaphase of mitotic division, the chromosomes align along the metaphase plate, which is an imaginary plane equidistant from the two spindle poles. The spindle fibers attach to the centromeres of the chromosomes, allowing them to be pulled towards opposite poles of the cell during anaphase. This alignment ensures that each daughter cell receives an equal and complete set of chromosomes.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
