All of the aforementioned fuel forms produce little to no greenhouse gas emissions; hydrogen cars, for example, only emit water vapor as exhaust.

Infrastructure is the reason such a change would be challenging; people would find it rather inconvenient to own these kinds of cars but not be able to refill them; on the other hand, electric charging stations are becoming more and more common; once the infrastructure to support alternative fuel cars is developed, people would readily switch over.
