What buffers are in our body?
We have three dominant buffers in our physiological system : Bicarbonate buffer, Phosphate buffer, Protein buffer.
The phosphate buffer functions in the intercellular fluid, the protein buffer functions in the cells to maintain pH, and the bicarbonate buffer primarily acts in blood to prevent blood's pH from rising.
